Our Work: Bands

Would you like to view: Audio Post-Production

From the soulful acoustic country-tinged goodness of The Eastern and The Unfaithful Ways, to the grimy grimness of Von Klap and pop-fuled indie hard hitters, Sleepy Age, Christchurch has some sexy bands and we love being a part of it.

The Eastern

Like a dog to its own vomit, The Eastern just keep on coming back. Having completed two EPs and a fantastic album, The Eastern are now working on their sophomore album. The basic tracking was completed in a sneaky hide-away up in the mountains and final tracking and mixing will continue here in the studio till the end of January.

The Unfaithful Ways

Arguably Christchurch's best looking band, The Unfaithful Ways recently released an EP recorded here at The Sitting Room. To do justice to their 60s Nashville influenced sound we used a tasty selection of vintage preamps and microphones. With a publishing deal sown up you can confidently expect great things from these lads!

Sleepy Age

As winners of RDU's Round Up band competition, the Sleepy Age were entitled to a free (as in speech) recording here at The Sitting Room. The end result was a pop-tastic sensation and the beginning of a beautiful relationship of love and respect. Cat Face, the bands first single, can be heard on their myspace.

Von Klap

Dirty darlings, Von Klap spent a merry couple of months in the studio recording their debut album Dog. Mr Ben engineered, creating a dark grinding album sound heavily influenced by whisky, peach schnapps and country red. Check out their website for sound samplings and a fantastic video directed by banjo/guitar player Damien Shatford.

Pine

Ageing stalwarts of the Christchurch scene (ouch sorry guys!), Pine have been punching out the sweetest pop melodies for as long as anyone can remember. They came to The Sitting Room with a bunch of tracks to be added to and mixed. The new album is slated for release in the first half of 2010 so keep your ears peeled!
